![]() She wasn't terribly popular with fans initially, or writers in all honesty, but there's a certain charm about her that persists and keeps her around. Jessica Cruz is what happens when editors create a character instead of actual creators. From there she's joined by fellow Lantern rookie Simon Baz and goes on many mediocre adventures. She later saves The Flash's life at the cost of her evil ring, but due to her bravery she's accepted into the Green Lantern Corps. She was initially possessed by an evil power ring, and went by the creative superhero name of "Power Ring". She was introduced in the middle of a Justice League story, which unfortunately meant having to share the spotlight with the top tier superheroes and villains. Basically, the higher ups of DC wanted a Green Lantern that wasn't white or male, and Jessica Cruz was born. Jessica Cruz was created in the early 2010s (first mentioned in 2013, appeared in 2014) by a committee of writers and artists working on the Justice League comics at the time and DC editorial. Pretty much all they've got going for them in my opinion is name value, and possibly some interesting character interactions, but "character driven" and RWBY (and Meghan Fitzgerald) don't go well together. Overall, I'd be very, very surprised if these movies are any good. Or you know, not de-aging the most iconic superheroes from our childhoods. I get the appeal of using Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in a crossover, but I would've much preferred just using the superheroes that are already in their late teens, early twenties instead. Just makes me wish we'd gotten Yangaros' version of RWBY Jessica instead. Then again, it's not as as bad as what "League of Super Pets" did to her. I don't necessarily hate the design for an OC Green Lantern (actually I kinda like it), but I refuse to believe that is Jessica Cruz. In select international markets, it also includes the general entertainment content brand, Star.I still can't believe what they did to the DC superheroes, specifically Jessica Cruz.
